“Floating Rock is my second release on Heal Your Universe, and I loved working on this track. I took the theme pretty literally, imagining a lone rock drifting slowly through time and space. To match that feeling, I wrote a simple piano melody first, then sent the midi into a few of my favourite synths: Arturia Analog Lab (vst), the Roland Alpha Juno 2 (hardware), and added some classic Korg M1 textures. The atmosphere is full of filtered risers, spacey foley, vinyl recordings, and slowed-down sounds (the “rock” you hear is actually Chinese sticks dropped several octaves). Even the simple snare is actually a blend of several custom layers.

This track is all about patience and texture, a quiet little world you can visit when everything else gets a bit too loud.”
